Description
The Targus Travel Chill Mat provides a comfortable and ergonomic work surface to keep you and your laptop cool. The Chill Mat rests on your lap and disperses heat, using dual fans to provide ventilation which can be obstructed if the laptop is used on a pillow or comforter. The ergonomic tilt makes typing easy while the soft neoprene material provides cushioned comfort on your lap. The open design allows fans to run quietly and stimulates constant airflow. Four rubber stops on the face of the Chill Mat prevents the laptop from slipping during use. To activate cooling, simply plug the USB connector into the laptop. No additional power source is needed. The Travel Chill Mat is sized specifically for travel, making it easy to carry in a laptop case or backpack whether traveling for work, school or pleasure.

This product worked well for three weeks, then it quit. Placement of the fans (had only two) is center so it doesn't cool the areas that get the hottest. I use my Laptop 16 hours + a day and I expect for the price it should last longer. The fans are sub standard, though it looks like they may have added a couple small ones on the side from the look of the ad. It would appear they invest more in the cosmetics rather than he workings of the device. I am now replacing this device.

The product is good for your lap but thats about it. I have a 15.6 screen Laptop and sitting it on a table makes it unbalanced. In my lap it works great and the size makes for great travel item. I thought that the fans were suppose to draw heat away and not blow air into the laptop, but i guess that would work well also.

Love how it is very light. Like how the comfort is on the lap and how it is easy to place on my lap and not slip.
I, however, do not like that that it doesn't come in fashionable colors or prints.

I bought this because I liked the compact size for travel but the first time I used it was on a solid surface and because of the compact size my laptop was unbalanced. The fans do not line up with the portion of my laptop that gets hot so it doesn't cool properly. Also, the weight of the laptop creates a rhythmic humming from the fan blades.
